Artist Statement

Drawing from my natural curiousity and pull towards discovery, my work is inspired by the texture and depth of what is and what may be. I find that my work emerges best when I surrender into the flow between fragility and fortitude. Painting reminds me to lean in.

I love experimenting with a variety of mediums and found materials that add mystery and story to what went into the work. Each piece takes on many lives as I add and remove, layer upon layer, refining until my final mark.

Jen is a self taught abstract expressionist, multi-medium artist. She lives in Portland, Oregon.
